September 2010 Tour The first organized tour of the Upper Cumberland Quilt Barns was a fun day of visiting, shopping, eating, and taking pictures. As advertised, it was a photographers delight! Some site owners were dressed in period costume.

Painting the Squares
Students at Algood Middle School,
Cookeville High School, and Cornerstone Middle School in Baxter painted
a number of the panels to be mounted on the barns. They worked under the
direction of art teachers. |

Hanging the Panels
The high school
carpentry class assembled the scaffolding and installed the squares on the
barns. It looks like they had a good time doing it! |
